The Birds Word with Robin: Horror Roundup

Presenting The Birds Word with Robin: A roundup featuring books in the horror genre. Reviewed by Robin Wasilewski for In the Stacks. 

This is a review of three horror stories and is a mix between graphic novels and manga. The first title is called Girl from the Other Side by Nagabe. This is a manga about a strange disease that is turning everyone into monsters. It’s also following a little girl named Shiva who currently has a monster as her caretaker. The second title is a graphic novel called Through the Woods by Emily Carroll. This is a collection of short horror comics with a twisted fairytale feel. The last title is Smashed: The Junji Ito Collection. This is a horror manga that consists of 13 original short stories that are beautifully written, but also graphic and disturbing.
