This book is a fascinating account of humanity and history, with a focus on war and how different societies have responded, especially when it comes to those who have fought those wars. The information in this book might surprise you, and how we have evolved as a society has taken its toll, not just on our veterans, but on all of us. Sebastian Junger’s argument on the harmful effects of modernized society on our sense of belonging is simple and profound.
